Starsky & Hutch will always be the definitive "buddy" TV show. Although watching crime bosses make deals behind candy stores and drink warm milk is a tad passe' these days, the connection between Starsky, Hutch, and Huggy Bear is simply timeless. They are the three guys you always wanted to pal around with. Well... while you drove Starsky's car.

tom, i actually had the chance to meet all three this past february, and they still have that "magic" that made the show so special.

The school house rock segments get me... almost choked up even.

Earlier today I was watching one of my "Best of the Dean Martin Variety Show" DVD's and I gotta tell ya that kind of awe struck me. One of the skits featured Dean, Andy Griffith and Paul Lynde. And not waning to go rantng about the 'good ole days' but it struck me funny that then the most popular shows were a fun polished product where today the top raters are merely the audition processes where we "choose" the next big "star" that will be quickly forgotten at the series end.

                Bummer :(

Oh egads. Like EVERy show takes me back.
I don't know HOW it's possible that much TV was burned into my brain when there were only a few channels available. I must have been watching 24/7.

C.H.I.P.s, Charlies Angels, Emergency!, Quincy, Knight Rider, A-Team, Dukes of Hazzard, Love Boat, Grizzly Adams, Buck Rogers, Wonder Woman, anything Bionic, Battlestar Galactica (the one where they were lizards eating people at the gambling restort scandalized me!), V, Little House on the Prairie, Thundercats, She-Ra, Fall Guy, Simon & Simon, T.J. Hooker, Sledge Hammer, Smurfs, Magnum P.I., ALF, the Flash, and later years huddled in the dark after everybody went to bed watching Tales from the Darkside OR A&E Improv OR USA Up all Night with Gilbert Gottfried or Rhonda Shear, .... you know, EVERYTHING.

I suffered my first cult fandom scandalous OUTRAGE!!! when they cancelled Automan after the first season. I could NOT believe they would cancel that awesome high-tech show and that EVERYBODY was not talking about it. I was depressed for like a year.

                                ahhh....the pre-internet days.
