My parents took me to a Donnie and Marie concert when I was 8. Does that count?

The real first concert was Kiss for the Asylum tour at the Omni in Atlanta 1985. It was New Year's Eve. The show was extra long and Gene and Paul did a new year's countdown. It was cool!

The absolute BEST show I've seen was ZZ Top in Memphis for the Recycler Tour.

Not rock, but my first concert was the Jacksons in 1979 when I was 13. I'd love to be able to see them again, if only Michael were still w/ us. (RIP Michael).

The Police, around 1983, for the Synchronicity tour... It was also at Rupp Arena in Lexington KY. I was 16 and a friend & I drove from Louisville to Lexington in my mom's Ford Granada to see it! It was the first time I had driven that far without an adult in the car. Man did I feel like a big shot! I'd probably see them again....

I got into music a bit late, which I always thought was because I don't have an older brother and I didn't happen to have friends with older brothers until around 7 or 8th grade.

So, I had seen concerts when I was young with my parents - but NOT rock shows. I think my first stadium concert was Lionel Ritchie the year he was doing his "Dancing on the Ceiling" thing.

The first real rock shows I went to would have been in 1989 - but I can't remember what was "first". I saw a bunch of shows that year at a place called Ontario Place Forum. Lawn seats were like, $6 or something - so my friends and I saw a bunch of shows there.

Mostly Canadian bands. We saw Tragically Hip and Cowboy Junkies in 1989, and a bunch of other bands, but I can't remember the order we saw them in for the life of me.

I'm also pretty sure Rolling Stones' "Steel Wheels tour" was that year, and I saw that - but again, that year was like opening music's floodgates to me - so the order of what came first is all a blur.

Would I see The Rolling Stones again now? Probably not, because I've seen them a few times. Though, every few years The Stones do a secret show in a small club in Toronto and it's a dream of mine to somehow catch one of those shows.

Late 80s Canadian bands like Tragically Hip, Blue Rodeo, Cowboy Junkies, The Grapes Of Wrath, Crash Vegas - I think they're awesome because of the memories and how they helped turn me onto music - but I haven't listened to that stuff in a long time and I don't have the same music taste now.

The STRAY CATS at the Baltimore Civic Center (now the baltimore arena) in 1983. My dad took me. he was and still is really into rockabilly. Still like the STRAY CATS and would go see them!

I was a bit of a late bloomer, my first concert was Motley Crue/Whitesnake in 1987. A friend invited me along to see KISS during their Dynasty tour in 1979, but for some dumb reason, my mom didn't let me go, otherwise that would have been my first rock concert.

My first that.I chose, not one my parents took me to, was Springsteen's Born In the USA tour. I've paid to see him since, most recently this year. He's still amazing.

My babysitter took me to see Kiss and Fleetwood Mac (different shows, can't remember which was first) in either 1977 or 78 when I was around 9 or 10 at the Midsouth Coliseum in Memphis, TN. It was pretty cool to be "babysat" at concerts. I was a big Kiss fan at the time. They wore their Love Gun costumes. Didn't get to go to another show until Ozzy in like 1981 or 82. A bunch of guys on my junior high football team went together.

Sha Na Na around 1978 in Chattanooga, TN. No idea what the tickets cost but I would go again without a doubt.
