Don Grady, the oldest of "My Three Sons" RIP

My Three Sons was before my and probably your time, but I did watch the show in reruns in the 70's, 80's and now on METV. Sad to learn that Don Grady (Robbie) died from Cancer at 68. Boy, Cancer sux, been losing too many to it lately.

Sad to hear that. I used to watch that show a lot.

When the show started, there was not the adopted son Ernie. There was an older brother Mike who was at the top. He left for college or something like that (probably was room mates with Chuck Cunningham ) and they brought in a new third son.
    It's all good!

I heard it last night Tina Cole had announced it....she played his wife in the show.....Robby wasn't the oldest brother, Tim Considine who played Mike was the oldest. the Color episodes are the ones that most people see today on syndication. the first four seasons shot in black and white with William Frawley as Uncle Bub are ignored.

No, Mike got married, Tim Considine left the show because he was an avid race car driver and they forbade him from driving so he was written off.......

I thought Ernie was Chinese when I was a kid.

I think the show switched networks too when it made the jump to color and Mike was sent away to marital bliss...

Oh no! I had seen on the Me-TV website that they had a "My Three Sons" day in LA, and Stanley and Barry Livingston and Tina Cole were in attendance. They said Don Grady couldn't be there b/c he broke his leg. I didn't know he had cancer! RIP Don. You will be missed.

Don's sister Lani O'Grady (Mary of "Eight Is Enough") died several years ago from a drug overdose...

I watched the show a lot as a little kid, but only the color episodes were aired. Imagine my shock when seeing the early episodes on Nick at Nite in the late 80s!!!
