    Any tobacco dippers here? I'm trying to quit!!!

    This is the hardest thing I have ever done!!! Quitting cigarettes was easy as pie, but dip, it is a @&$&$&;:<%{^*¥£>%^€<<#%££&)(;:?!);

    I just passed 48 hours without a dip.

    Anyone here dip or use to dip?

    I chewed like a fiend in college in the 90s. About a tin and a half of Skoal a day for 4 years. I was addicted and one day I decided to quit cold turkey. It was not easy, but I quit and never looked back.
    The trick was to find substitutes to throw at the cravings. Chewing gum and coffee were big for me. When the cravings got especially tough, I went for a run.

      If you saw pictures of my uncle from Texas you'd quit in a heartbeat. He had to have his entire tongue and lower jaw removed, then went through radiation treatments which made the remainder of his teeth fall out, just so he could live an extra year in horrific pain and misery. The last thing he wrote to my father was he couldn't wait to die.

      I really, really hope you can kick the habit.

        Never dipped but did gt hooked on the gum for about a year and a half. Remember, the nicotine is out of your system completely in 5 days... at that point the urges come from habit more so than addiction. If you kicked cigarettes' ars easily I'm sure you will do great in this arena too!

            I tried it in my early 20s when I was playing in a softball league...and just couldn't get into it...I'm glad for that...I guess I love beer too much, lol.

              Quiting Cig's was actually pretty hard for me ...., and I couldn't do it , until I was hospitalized in the ICU for 5 Days ...., for an unrelated issue. I haven't had a Smoke since Like Feb 17th .... I still get the Urge, every so often.

                Okay, I'm going to confess a bit here. I use two different kinds of chew for different purposes. At home--like right this minute--I chew Skoal Wintergreen Fine Cut and at work I use Skoal Wintergreen Pouches, because they're easier to hide from others and easy to ditch if you need to get rid of it pronto. That's how serious I am about using it. Sad, really, is what it is. I quit once before for like two years by switching to Mint Snuff, but the gal ordering it in the store got into it with a rep and quit getting it in, so I thought I'd just grab some Skoal to tide me over until I found more and BOOM I was hooked again. It's expensive and nasty, but I love the malignant garbage. I think it's more the taste and the action of doing something more than anything, like it's psychological. I should take your cue and try quitting again, man--I hope it works out for you, I really do.

                  I tried Kodiak once in high school and ended up puking all over a golf course.
