The Strange Case Of Alice Cooper...

...has finally been released on DVD! Came across it unwittingly yesterday while browsing at my local (historic) record store. I love these kinds of little surprises! Now if we can just get a DVD release of The Nightmare TV special.

Here's the link for Amazon's offering:

Alice is suppose to be in one of those monster movies they have on Syfy. Saw him getting punted by something.

Thanks jwyblejr...I'll have to look it up. It goes without saying it's got to be a really bad movie. One...it's on SyFy. Two...it has Alice Cooper in it.

(Sgt Pepper, Roadie, Monster Dog, Prince Of Darkness, Freddy's Dead, The Attic Expeditions, Dark Shadows...need I say more?)

Have you seen "Good to See You Again, Alice Cooper"? Amazing concert footage from the Alice Cooper Band's heyday (i.e. "Billion Dollar Babies" Tour).

Yes...thanks! I picked that one up on DVD a few years ago. I had seen some very brief clips of it mixed in with some other live Alice footage on either Don Kirshner's or Midnight Special way back in the mid to late 70's. Also some of it was used on the VHS release Prime Cuts. I didn't realize that the clips were taken from a full length film that had had a theatrical release way back when. That DVD quickly tied with my long time fave Welcome To My Nightmare concert film (which I was fortunate enough to catch on the big screen at few midnight showings back in the late 70's). Can't help but love old time Alice.

Although I was skeptical about his role in the Dark Shadows movie early on, I was hopeful that he would at least mimic his classic early 70's performances in the movie...but, it wasn't to be, it was merely modern Alice portraying modern Alice.

Don't get me wrong, I love modern Alice too...I just think that if you're in a film that's glorifying 1972 ad nauseam along with a not-so-subtle nod to your own personal history that you should honor that history by being as true to it as possible. Just my point of view.
