Lookit all the wee turtles!!

I had a nest of African Sideneck turtles hatch out today, didn't even know the mama layed eggs yet this year. Had to scoop them out of the pond before they were dinner for the big turtles.


^^^^ If you look at the one in the last pic he's got a bite taken out of him by mom or dad. Just his shell, so it should heal over.

Tutles are so cool. It's scary that you actually know the exact species, but being in Florida you probably have elementary school classes in interstate entimology. Now what are you going to be able to do with them?

If I can find a buyer, sell them for a decent amount, captive born hatchlings sell big. No contamination of salmonella as long as I feed them dry pellets.
They are of this Genus, not sure what species, probably casteneus
