    A "sticky" situation...

A question for anyone who can answer it: I just picked up Season One of The Bionic Woman for the ridiculous price of $6.99 from my local BUYBACKS and it has one of their big gooey stickers on it! Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the sticky off whilst maintaining the integrity of the finish on the cardboard? I tried some rubber cement and it took some off, but not all...
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Totally agree, lighter fluid all the way. I've been using that to remove stickers and price tags for years.

But won't that soak into the cardboard and/or dull any glossy parts of said cardboard...?

Or you could try a small amount of eucalyptus oil.

I hate the cases they come in.

I would grab a few scans from the net, make your own covers and put them in good protective cases... Amaray cases are top of the line

            Universal cases suck

Just make sure not to use too much at once. You will see a dark spot on the cardboard where it gets wet, but once it dries, the spot will disappear. I've used lighter fluid on vintage toy packaging to remove price tags, and have never had a problem with the fluid causing damage to the cardboard. Just use it liberally.

WD-40 has always worked best for me.

It evaporates almost instantly, just don't try and set a bonfire and you'll be okay.

No votes for Goo Gone, or is lighter fluid better?

                    Thanks!

My guess is that Goo Gone would stain the cardboard.

Not a fan of Goo Gone like I used to be. At some point the formula changed, and it doesn't seem to work as well. I have also managed to melt plastic with it to or three times in the past couple of years.

Lighter fluid works perfectly. I have seen it used on vintage star wars cards.

Goo Gone all the way...less flammable too. I've used Goo Gone to get glue out of Mego clothing. The stuff works.
