Riddler could have been done in the dark nature Nolan brings to the Batman movies.
Anne Hathaway in tight leather is hard to pass up. I don't know if I would get tired of that too soon. I'm pretty sure she'll be a tad better than Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeifer. Berry was very hot in the suit but I've never found her to be a very good actress. Pfeifer pulled off the psycho side OK. I don't think they're going in that direction with this character in this movie.

I could give DeCaprio a shot as Riddler. Nicholson as the Joker, was not a stretch after The Shining, and Carrey was pretty much the same. Ledger as the Joker was not at all what I saw coming. Leo is a pretty good actor when he does characters. Catch me if you can was a great movie where he pretty much plays a guy playing other people.

I would say Ledger and RDjr as Ironman as possibly the two best comic interpretations ever done on film. I'd add Chris Reeve as Superman in there. He pulled off the misplaced alien on a strange planet with high moral values about as well as you could. Almost naive at times with limitless power.

I wonder if they stayed away from the Riddler because they felt it wouldn't top Carrey's performance. He was pretty much made for that part.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

I think that given the expense of the movie it's unlikely the casting for the villain will be a capital A list actor like DiCaprio. Then again - depending on how much this new one makes and depending on how much they stand behind keeping this franchise going with another director - who knows.

      I think he'd be great - he's a great actor.

          DiCaprio as the Riddler????

          Uh.....no.

Jeff Goldblum as the Riddler??? Maybe ten to fifteen years ago, but not now. He's a little too long in the tooth.

This role needs someone in their late twenties, early thirties, slim, athletic, and capable of being both dark and a complete spaz.

I say David Tennant could do it.

He's perfectly capable of being both dark and a spaz, as well as having the right height, build and general look.

He'd just have to fake an American Accent.

              I would pay to see Wee-man ..., as Bat-Mite.

... I wrote Depp, because of that Rumor a Few Years Back ..., that he WAS gonna be the Riddler..., but it was Just a Rumor, and since then he's been involved in some hollywood overkill, But I still believe him to be 1 of the best Actors ...., and would be great as the character.

I wrote Daniel Day Lewis ..., Because Ever Since I saw Gangs of New York ..., and There will be Blood ..., I've so very Much wanted this Guy to be a Comicbook Villian in Hollywood . He is Fantastic. I wanted him to be Sinestro ..., But could see him as The Riddler too. Someone that Monolog's a Ton ...., and is Full of themselves would be Perfect. ... Perhaps a Future Green Goblin would work too.

I don't care Much for DiCaprio. I just see the Little Boy from Growing Pains ...., and I just don't believe him as a Bad Arse, and it's always been Difficult for me to get into Movies with him as the Lead Role.

Ledger's Joker ..., was Unlike any Damn Comicbook I've ever Read of the character. I just don't understand comments praising his comicbook accuratecy.

Tennant as The Riddler would be GREAT!!! I would love to see him get some more big screen time!!!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

You mean when you picture The Joker you don't immediately think of Jeff Goldblum's "The Fly" meets Tom Waits?

(I did think his performance and that version of the character was lots of fun though.)

If he's the best actor on the planet, wouldn't that make Growing Pains the best TV show of all time?

No..he wasn't then but he is now. Just like George Clooney wasn't George Clooney when he was on the Facts of Life. DiCaprio is the only actor I go to see in a movie regardless of what the move is. J. Edgar was awful, but he was good in it. Same with Shutter Island and the Beach. He's good in bad movies. My personal favorite though is Romeo & Juliet and Gangs of New York. Those are probably two of my top ten films of all time. This Christmas Gatsby comes out and it looks incredible. Same director as R&J too. Daniel Day is really good too but he's so selective in his films he only makes one every 4 years and sometimes they're clunkers (like his last one.) Like Goldblum, he's also getting up there in age too. But my number 2 actor is already in Batman and it's not Christian Bale....its Gary Oldman. That guy can act in anything and he seems to transcend time. I still say Michael C. Hall should be the Riddler when ever they get around to the next Batman film....

I like DiCaprio (I like him better than Depp, I'm just sick of Depp this, and Depp that, lol)...but there are so many actors out there I like better.

                            Some...

                            Morgan Freeman
Gary Oldman (as you just mentioned)
                            Anthony Hopkins
                            Russell Crowe
Daniel Day Lewis (my personal favorite)
                            Denzel Washington

                            Those are just a few...

...and the best overall actor is arguably not even a male...it's a female...Meryl Streep...

Back in the day, I desperately wanted John Malkovich for The Riddler. The perfect combo of intellect and creepiness.
