I caught about 10 minutes of it just after 10pm last night. I figured it was bogus but i set the dvr to record it at 11pm when they ran it again. My wife also wanted to see it so we are going to watch it tonight. And of course i'll be watching it as more entertaining than anything factual.

        re

I need to re-find the website with the underwater bloop noises. Back in the 90s the original bloop sounded like a giant air bubble. It was the frequency used that led many to believe it was a living organism that made the sound and if so it would be the largest animal on Earth, they thought if anything it was a giant octo or squid. later on they rethought that perhaps the bloop was land mass shifting.

Either way the place that records these sounds had a website up. One small section had unidentified sounds. It was here you can listen to the actual bloop as well as some other odd things. Two of which I can still recall. One sounded (for lack of a better term) almost like a spaceship slowing down to a stop in the water. The other was some odd animal like noise that sounded like a whistle.

You Know ... I always Entertain alot of Crap Like this .....Perhaps Not as Factual..., but as Entertainment ...., But I did think Batman And Hulk were Real until I was 10 too. So I like **** like this.

... I am a Huge Sci-Fi Fantasy sorta Dude ...., and Love it when History and even Evolution Theory's are involved with this sorta Nonsense , it makes for a good program.

I struggle with the Consistant thoughts of the Fact that there isn't anything Esle out there. Without getting political, or religious ...., I seriously struggle with the fact that Mankind ..., the Human Race is the smartest beings alive in the universe...., and we have seen and know all. Yes ...., I may wait forever for that Green Ring to fly to me to be choosen, and perhaps I might not see it at all ....

But until then ..., I do believe in the Idea of The Space Alien, The Big Foot ...., and Now The Idea of the Mermaid. It's all undiscovered country to me ..., mankind has not seen the Entire Sea, Woods, nore Space.
... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.

Reminds me of the Paranormal Activity movies.

Just finished watching the show. I don't even know what to say. Really disappointed in animal planet for broadcasting that load of crap. Anybody who believes any of that garbage deserves to be deceived. It was ok in some spots but most was just pathetic.

The Bloop is totally real; however, I'm pretty sure that wasn't the real Bloop they played. The Bloop certainly doesn't have mermaids screaming on it. Over all, I thought it was a fun movie, and applaud DirectTV for labeling it as Science Fiction in the program guide. Animal Planet also called it sci-fi here, despite saying it was based on some real events. I think those events are pretty much limited to The Bloop and whale beachings. Still, to create a kind of pseudo-scientific mythos based on so little shows a lot of imagination.

BTW, David Soul was the narrator!

P.S.: One thing just occurred to me: Why do they have noses if they had blow holes on top of their heads? And why are they flat-faced like us? It would conserve a lot more energy if they had snouts, giving them less drag while in motion.

Yeah I re-watched the (mind the pun) tail end of this because I wanted to see the River Monsters finale and I re-read the credits. Just edited the post now but ohh well. I originally was thinking that perhaps those siren like screams were what they thought in the film, possibly another undiscovered form of dolphin.

I know the actual bloop is real and those other odd things I mentioned in the post that I heard on the website many years ago were all real. Likewise another special in the 90''s had another sound recorded that almost sounded like evil laughing. It was kind of eerie to hear it and they still have no cluie what made that either.

I know I used webzip on that site many years ago so will check through some archive disc and get the proper url

AHH here we go, though the website changed a bit since then. Scroll towards the mid to bottom (though I no longer see the whistle, the other two are still there)

I think this whole thing boils down to that Sonar crap. Even the X-files covered the conspiracy theory's connected to the Secret Government Sonar test thing. I believe the whale beaching's were blamed on sonar issue at the time. But to my knowledge the sonar test were never confirmed as the cause of the beaching's. This Docu-fantasy seems just another attempt to enliven the belief of the Evil secret government sonar conspiracy.
In other words. It's a kinda Tree-Hugg'n Hippy Crap way around addressing an issue that burned out it's controversial issues and had begun to slowly sink away public interest.
