Sounds or phrases you haven't heard in years

    Hi folks,

This was posted on another board I'm on. What are some sounds and/or phrases that were apart of your everyday life that you haven't heard since you were young. Here are some of the ones I listed:

"We're experiencing operating difficulties, please stand by."

That ABC announcer around during the 70s and 80s during primetime. (What's his name?)

"Crazy Eddie, his prices are INSANE!"

TV Bumpers during the midway point and before the last scene of a show. (Me-TV still shows The Mod Squad ones, and I always smile).

    The 4:30 Movie intro

    Thriller (horror movie) intro

    Station Idents

Dial-a-Santa ads before Christmas (man did I get in trouble for that one!)

Gas station signal bells (when a customer drove up at full service stations)

The steady "DING" of a Mister Softee truck (no song, just the DING)

The Disney Summer Hit Parade commercial, once a week, all summer long adverstising Disney movies

"Coppertone gives you more from the sun!"

    Good toy jingles.

Good TV theme songs. (beginning AND ending)

Classic cash register sounds (the buttons, now all you get is the scanner beep).

"...in specially marked boxes of Alpha-Bits (or whatever) cereal."

    "Funshine Saturday on ABC!"

That clickety-click sound intro to "In The News".

I could go on...but you get the idea.
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

And that phrase came from the song "Valley Girl" by Moon Unison Zappa, which is where Square Pegs got it from. (you couldn't write s****?)

Two of my favorites from the eighties:

"Wheres the beef?" and " Ive fallen, and I cant get up!"

                    Thinking of more....

                              "Cool Beans."

Every now and then someone pulls that out and it sounds totally dated.
"Steel-like jaws clacked away, each bite slashing flesh from my body - I used my knife and my hands, and when they were gone, my bloody stumps - and yet the turtles came."
