I had to do a church reading as a kid and loudly pronounced the "PS" in Psalm in front of my entire school. That was fun.

That being said I pronounce the L.

I pronounce it Palm with L. I think I got it from "Palm Pilot" Due to the pronunciation. of the PDA. Before I became obsessed with Tech. I cannot recall how I used to say it.

I get called out on bad pronunciation by my finicky friends all the time. Usually for words I read more than I hear out loud, and A LOT of times with celebrity names.

That happens to me, too. I remember the first time I used the phrase "impedence mismatch"... I pronounced it as "impotence mismatch".

What's worse, when everyone giggled, I scolded them for being so childish. "It's a real word, you know."

"Why yes, it is... but that's not how you pronounce it."

Needless to say, it took a while to live that one down.

I had to look up the term "impedance mismatch" and I couldn't even understand what it meant, so you're more than one up on me - if that makes you feel better!

Got made fun of just last night by a group of friends for slipping and calling Jon Hamm 'Jack Hamm'. So maybe I don't have a pronunciation problem - maybe my brains are getting to be no good.
