    RIP George (Goober) Lindsey

83 years old. A great guy from what I heard and a good actor. Just watch him play they sweet innocent Goober then watch the Twilight Zone episode I think is called "I Am The Night, Color Me Black" to him do a more sinister role.

Just in watching the clip that kw posted the link to, you can get that great sense of innocence and fun that's just not around in television anymore....

Loved Goober, on Andy Griffith & Hee Haw. I've been watching HH reruns on RFDTV, and it's still funny stuff, corny as all get out, but my 10 year old loves the show!

                    RIP George!

^Is RFDTV an antenna channel? I swear antenna has better sounding channels than DISH.

Goober always seemed like a real nice guy. He seemed to love the character, and never got beat down with typecasting. It wouldn't surprise me if he was he buried in his trademark cap.

                      RIP Goober.

Sad to see this. RIP. I remember an interview I saw with him, where he said that comedy was better when you didn't have resort to swear words or mean humor.
                          It's all good!

He used to come here to Alabama (since he was born in Jasper, AL) for the Special Olympics during the 70's and put on a show. Other actors and athletes would participate as well. It was a big deal here for years. He will certainly be missed.

RFDTV is on our cable system, both regular & HD. It shows Hee Haw on Sunday night & the same episode Monday morning, some episodes of the 1/2 hour Roy Rogers TV series, and a couple country music shows, the twangy-kind I like with new Marty Stuart & vintage Porter waggoner. The rest is mostly rodeo, cowboy, & equestrian stuff. Hopefully they will continue showing the older stuff, and stay away from the semi-pop country of today.

RFD-TV is the channel that bought Trigger & Bullet when the Roy Rogers Museum closed down & they auctioned the contents. I believe they display them at their headquarters & occasionaly take them on the road as part of a tour.
