Talk about a group that grew musically from their first realease to their last. I remember i had to have their first release so bad. It was an awesome tape. They only had their voices though. They grew every single release they put out. They will always have a place in my music library. R.I.P MCA one bad mutha.Comment

Been a fan a long long time, had the Cookie Puss EP on vinyl.
I had honestly forgotten that he was sick, so this comes as a bit of a shock to me.
Only ever saw them once, which is surprising to me as I was such a fan, and that was when they headlined the Lollapalooza in T.O./Barrie Ont., and as great as they were, I always wished I had seen them play at a smaller venue.
I once had tickets to see them play with Rollins Band, but something came up and I couldn't go, one of the saddest moments of my life seeing my friends pull out of my driveway to go see that show, and knowing I couldn't go.
Farewell to Mr. Yauch, he was a talented musician and a good person who brought a lot of attention to the struggles of the Tibetans.Comment

Cancer totally sucks!!! The Beastie Boy's ROCKED!!!
I seen this on the news today and was going to report it here earlier. I knew someone here would have been all over it by then though and beat me to it. I cannot think of too many people that do not like the Beastie Boys.
This is another one of those sudden deaths that came out of right field. I had no idea that he was battling cancer. What is up with all of the peeps clocking out in their 40's these days?
RIP MCAEnjoy what you like, and let others enjoy what they like. (C) Azrak 2009

Bummer. The Beastie Boys have managed to grow and remain influential in hip-hop well into their 40's. Licensed to Ill and Paul's Boutique were staples of my teen years.
