Audio Book, Janet Evanovich's "HIGH 5" Its the 5th story in her Stephanie Plum series. I've heard them all, just going back through them again. I like NPR sometimes for the call in shows, and Blue Coller radio on sirius xm.
    shouldn't you be working?????????????

      Primus "Tommy the Cat"

      O'Malley's Alley

      Tommy the Cat
      "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn"

In the Southeast Pacific, lies the sunken city of R'Leyh. There lies C'thulhu waits to return to our world with the other Great Old Ones. A hideous creature of enormous size and alien power, it waits for it's time to return patiently. For it has all the time in the world while it waits for the stars.

I can't work at my desk without music. Every day, all day I have on CRIK FM -The Lynx Retro 80s through TuneIn Radio on my Droid Razr. In my opinion CRIK is the best Retro
80s station out there. Tuesday's are great because they do '2-for-Tuesday'...except when they play Michael Jackson, Madonna, the Stones, or Rod Stewart.

Every night I throw the earbuds in and listen to Coast to Coast until I fall asleep, also through TuneIn.

                -Chris

Radio stations...there's only one for me. Here in NY on the dial it's 90.7 WFUV. Streaming on line and go to WFUV.org. Best radio station in the world. No commercials...just music.

Individual CD's...Joss Stone "LP1", Dave Barnes "Stories To Tell", Ultravox Greatest Hits and a few others. Lot's of stuff coming out soon that I need to get like the new Norah Jones CD. There's a new George Harrison CD coming out that will be basically demos from over the years called Early Takes Volume 1. Already have a unofficial release of the ATMP demos called "Beware of Abkco"...but it would be nice to have a official and most likely better sounding release. Waiting impatiently for the brand new Ultravox CD. First new CD with the "Classic Lineup" in 25 years. Here's the first single...great video:

May 28th can't come soon enough for me. Unfortunately there doesn't look like there will be a US release. The Amazon link says Import.

Their eyes can't hope to see
                  The beauty that surrounds them
                  Isn't it a pity".

Favourite tracks in my "New Good Songs" smart playlist would be:

The Preachers - Take A Card. A Sydney group no-one has heard of. I like 'em.

Noah And The Whale - Tonight's The Kind Of Night. I missed this track when it came out. Brilliant driving song.

Yello - Squeeze Please. Hmm. I've been listening to a remix all these years. This is the original.

Bruce Springsteen - Wrecking Ball. Most of his new album "Grumpy Old Man" consists of gripes about being old and incontinent, with tracks like "Get Off! (My Lawn)", "Where Did I Put my Teeth?", and "I've Had A Little Accident" reflecting the concerns of an aged rock star. However, "Wrecking Ball" is the Springsteen of old - testosterone, hope, dreams and rock and roll.

Superheavy - Miracle Worker. So Mick Jagger, Joss Stone, Dave Stewart and Damien Marley walk into a bar... 90% of this album is certified Awesome. How does such great music slip under the modern pop radar? Stupid radio. If you plan on having summer this year, have a listen.

                    Superheavy - Beautiful People.

                    Superheavy - Common Ground.

Is that Midge Ure doing a Droopy impersonation? What the hell happened to his voice? Have a listen to Jagger singing in Superheavy - there's a good example of a singer who seems to only get better with age.

And musically, while it sounded like Ultravox, it sounded like a (bad) 1984 Ultravox cover band, who haven't experienced the last 30 years of progress. It reminds me A LOT of Kraftwerk in 1980.

                      Now I'm bummed out.

Ultravox - Reap The Wild Wind.

                      Ah, that's better.

But wait... what's that? 1976 calling? Ultravox and the Bay City Rollers had a love child?! Slik - Forever and Ever. Oh Midge!

This one is for me...One of my favorite Ultravox songs:

                            http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KH9SI...feature=relmfu

BTW, "Brilliant" grows on you. I too wasn't impressed when I first heard it...But it is SOOOOOOO Ultravox. Vocals are a little weak. Holding out hope for the rest of the CD. Hoping they tour here in the US. Midge still has one of the FINEST VOICES in music. Saw him live here on Long Island in a very small venue. Acoustic guitar and that voice. Incredible.

I completely forgot about the Superheavy cd. Huge Joss fan as well as a huge fan of fan of Dave Stewart both as an artist but even more as a producer. I have to find that disc. New Joss should be out later this year.

I actually discover a ton of good stuff just typing keywords into youtube.
Favorite keywords: Stoner, doom, space, metal, tripped out, psych, etc...
Been really getting into strange epic spacey stoner jams lately, however been listening to this a whole heck of a lot:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wyv5JDNO3KY
vocals remind me of a young David Gilmour.
