It was great last week in Palm Springs - 95+ every day, not a cloud in the sky. Got back home to Seattle yesterday and it's back to low-50's, grey clouds, wind, and rain.

Last night we had 6 inches of water running across Hwy 63 just south of here, it was raining so hard. Rained a good chunk of the day today, as well.

It was rainy and miserable for the entire summer here in Sydney.

People of Earth: Australia is not Sydney. If you want to experience Australia you must visit Queensland, Perth or the outback. In summer.

As I said, it rained constantly over summer in Sydney. We had ONE DAY where it got over 30°C (86°F).

Meanwhile, yesterday it rained in Perth for the first time since November. Weeks and weeks of 40°C+ (104°F+).

So if you come to Oz expecting glorious sunshine, you might not want to put all your eggs in the Sydney basket.
