    First time Sculpting

A few weeks ago I bought some sculpty with the intention of eventually trying to make a mego head. Since I have never sculpted anything ever I thought last night I would take it out and try my hand at it.

I had a pretty good time with it. I realised its better to build the shape instead of stretching right away. I worked on this for about two hours. I doubt I'll be ready to make a mego head anytime soon but I'll definately try another one some time soon.

Im going to bake this and probably paint it. Anyone have any idea what the baking time on this would be? It'll probably be more than 15 minutes. Its about 5 1/2 inches tall.

Has anyone eles got any sculpts they would like to share?

Looks pretty good, actually, for a guy who's never sculpted anything before! All the proportions look right and I recognize all the body parts for what they're supposed to be! Righteous!!!

sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

He was tough. I think I spent the first hour alone trying to get the head and body close in proportian. I may have been a little over ambitious, a cartoon type character may have came out better.

Anyways, when I get a chance I'll clean him up some and try to get the baking time right.

Up next: Im going to try painting on canvas. But Im going to practice that FIRST!

Thanks everyone and sculpting IS really tough. Im in awe of all you guys who do customs from sculpting, making clothes, to modifying. Its a very underrated hobby that deserves more attention.

Very good start. So far I cannot sculpt at all. I have no experience and probably the wrong materials. This is a cool start. You've made Constable Odo from DS9.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

That was totally unintentional and I see it in his face!
