70's-80's Godzilla model question, i need help.

Ok Everybody, My nephew wants to try a find a toy like his dad had back when he was a kid. this is the general description i got.

Late 70's early 80's Godzilla Model that snaps together but was solid vinyl or resin NOT made by Aurora stood around 1 foot tall.

i hope all the great toy buffs we have here can help us out. Thanks.

There were a few different toys from that era which fit the description. Some official, some not. (You can see one in the background of most NBC sitcoms from the mid to late 90's.)

could have been a Billikin kit, volks, kaiyodo, horizons, etc. Could have also been a garage kit

Maybe, but that one's hard polystyrene plastic. It's also a really good kit; easy to build, easy to paint. (I got one through Avon a long time ago.)

I'm not an expert on the model kits, but I know that a ton of companies in Japan made a huge amount of Godzilla kits over the years (authorized and otherwise). Not sure how many would have made it to a store stateside back in the late 70's to early 80's though. In the late 80's perhaps.
