    What's this July internet virus I keep hearing about ?

    I keep hearing half-stories about somekind of really nasty computer virus coming in July.

    Is this real ?

          are you sure it is a virus and not a hack? On july 12, the Riaa and mpaa, etc are now going to have most internet service providers spy on their own customers and follow where you go and what you download. if that passes it goes into effect July 12. I know time warner, comcast and a few others are going to be part of it. I can see some groups getting a bit ticked off and shutting down those services (and rightly so if they do)

              Avoid Internet Doomsday: Check for DNSChanger Malware Now

              The DNSChanger Eye Chart is one such tool. If the user on an infected computer goes to the site, the image on the page is displayed with a red background. If the machine is clean, the image has a green background. The eye chart will also show a red image if the home router is infected, even if the computer itself is clean.
