Former Dark Shadows star Jonathan Frid, who portrayed vampire Barnabas Collins in the 1966-1971 TV soap opera, died at age 87 on April 13th 2012 after declining health in recent months. Condolences to family and friends.Mr.Frid's death comes almost 4 weeks to the day that Tim Burton's version of Dark Shadows starring Johnny Depp is released in theaters.Mr.Frid has a cameo in the movie along with other former DS actors/actresses.

Interesting, ShadowAvenger. Palitoy's thread even beat mine by several hours, thus earning the distinction of being "first." This is weird, because when I posted the thread I distinctly remember NOT seeing any mention of Mr. Frid's death here. Probably just on another page.

Regardless of all this, it's gratifying to know that there are so many people out there who still remember and appreciate Mr. Frid's work.
