Living vicariously through all of you

Here it is the start of garage sale season, winter withdrawl is running high,...I am once again bogged down with an injury. I am casted and on crutches again, so I need you all to post photos of every awesome garage sale find. Hopefully I'll join you again on sale adventures in four weeks, worse case twelve weeks.

I think it gives me time to compile some unused stuff for my own garage sale! I can make room for more new-to-me treasures!

I had thought other than the antique market on Sundays down at ST Lawrence market, that the old school flea market was extinct in my neck of the woods. I rediscovered the joy by driving out to the boonies last summer and I'm just itching for flea market season to begin.

Now I am having the same problem in my other foot. Desperately trying to prevent my other achilles tendon from rupturing, my podiatrist wants me off both my feet as much as possible. I am not a fan of laying in bed all day!

I broke my foot last year on mother's day. Tried to do the Flea Markets on crutches which was impossible and later I got the knee scooter to push around on which was difficulty. Most of the time, I was laid up on the coach sleeping all day and up all night. Turned out the first surgery didn't work and had to go back again in November to do it all again so I ended up hobbling around for almost a year. I just started walking normal again without a cain or an air cast at the beginning of March. It's been beautiful out all week and there's a pretty big Flea Market on Thursdays so I was looking forward to going. Last night it started raining but I was still hoping to go today and while it turned out to be beautiful, unfortunately I woke up sick and spent the whole day sleeping. I totally feel your pain! (literally and figuratively)

Yes, take care of yourself, first and foremost!! (I hope you have a speedy recovery!)
No matter how many tempting sales come up. ...take it from someone who knows.

A few years ago, I sprained my ankle on the way to the car before a whole day of a huge list of sales. No biggie, I've sprained my ankle a GAZILLION times. Usually happens on a FLAT surface in FLAT shoes with no danger in sight.

So I was like eff it, I'm going ANYWAY. It's still going to be sprained either way. Not going to hole up with a wrap and miss everything. So I hobbled to the car and believe it or not, went to a bunch of sales HOPPING and LIMPING on an unwrapped ankle that was four times it's normal size and weird purple and red colors. I did some car window shopping too.

Well, errr, it's like three years later and there's a little grindy chippy bone on the inside that still gives me sharp pain problems, worst of all when I'm wearing HEELS! *gasp*

Soooo, sales are probably not worth the chance of becoming a hobbled freak. Unless it was like the sale I found last weekend, then maybe.......
