    Hit a HUGE milestone today

Many of you may remember Scott's (Random Axe) thread back on Jan 16 regarding his lifestyle change giving up sugar and white flour products. I have been slowly letting myself go over the past 5 or 6 years so I weighed myself that day and took a good look in the mirror and decided to give it a try. I cut out all of the refined sugar I could. Haven't touched a Coke (or any other soda), sweet, chocolate cake with peanut butter icing , slice of pizza, bite of pasta, piece of white bread, etc in 3 months. I also started playing racquetball again about 2 months ago. I have been shedding weight like you wouldn't believe. My energy level is through the roof. Every benefit that Scott listed, I am experiencing as well. I hit a milestone today when I stepped on the scale.

    I LOST 50 FRIGGIN POUNDS!!

in almost exactly 3 months. I could kick myself for not taking before pictures, but I wouldn't have wanted anyone to see me like that. I can't wait to shake Scott's hand this year at Mego Meet. And Saturday night's dinner is definitely on me (for Scott) as a thank you for inspiring me.

    That is awesome! Congratulations.

And if you don't have before pics, you can always do the picture of you holding out the waistband in your oversized pants.

kudos to you. It is pretty amazing how much extra sugars and carbs we consume daily without thinking about it. Good that you are also incorporating some PE into the grand scheme of things. Keep it up, and here's to the next milestone be it 5, 10, or another 50.

That's actually a good idea. You would not believe how much I can pull them out. Not quite as far Jared from Subway could, but it's still amazing. I broke down and bought some new jeans a few weeks ago and now THEY are too big. And I am swimming in my shirts.

                  That's superb. Well done!

I've got 30-40 I'm ready to let go. I've gotten back on my old food plan that worked before, (off sugar and refined carbs) been trying to get some more exercise and do some of the other things that helped me lose weight.

THATS AWESOME!!!!! I am so happy for you that is really great!!! I have been trying to cut back colas Dr Pepper is ver hard to give up. I have been drinking more water and starting today everyone should give up sugar as you did. I am not too much overweight, maybe 20 lbs, I will try to lose that by mego meet, thank you and you and Scott will inspire others now. I need that energy boost

I was looking for that thread the other day. Today marks 2 weeks with no sugar/carbs for me (with the exception of a 12 pack of PC low carb beer AKA water with beer flavour). I notice my "love handles" are going away but my spare tire is still there and it's what bugs me the most. How many days from starting the diet did you notice a change?

I actually lost a lot of weight almost immediately. I am thinking 20-25 pounds in the first 3 weeks. After that it slowed down to a steady 3 pounds per week. I still do have some spare tire left and need to work on that. Not much though, not near as much. But I did hear that's the hardest to lose. I am getting back on P90X soon and also doing some muscle toning with a Bowflex I got for the family for Christmas. I do a lot of swimming in the summer so that will help as well.
