Robert Plant signed my ticket when I had back stage passes last year.
Anthony Daniels signed my Story of Star Wars LP and a Red series trading card at a charity event.
Those were both very social. They were not at booths doing the autograph thing. No payment for either. There is a pic of each on my FB page.
I did get a few sigs before but now I don't see the point in me paying for a signature. I will usually say hi to celebs I admire and move on.
A few years ago I got Yvonne Craig and Gerard Christopher to autograph stuff I bought from them at cons. Hers was on a book that was not great but his was on great copies of Superboy series VHS.
Lou Ferrigno signed something for me at the Arnold Expo. I see him there annually.
No signature but I did get a pic of myself dressed as superman with Marc snapping a pic of me and Margo.
Dina's autographed pic to me ("With Lots of Love" )
And me with Dina! She smelled like cupcakes and baby bunnies!
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."
The most recent autograph I received was Julie Newmar. My mom met her when she was a speaker at a garden show. She wasn't selling any photos from Batman or Twilight Zone, just more recent pics:( So my mom just asked her to sign a program for me.
The most recent ones I got in person was in December or January, when I went to see Cinematic Titanic in York, PA. Since it's most of the MST3k cast, I wore my Pearl Forrester costume and got my picture taken with Joel and Mary Jo, then Frank and Trace. I bought a copy of Mary Jo's book and they all signed that for me.
Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?
Last one in person was Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) at a con in Allentown.
I also collect through the mail, so the last there was Steven Yuen, Iron-E Singleton, & Andrew Lincoln from Walking Dead. & William Peter Blatty Exorcist HC.
"Big Star" wise...I refuse to pay for autographs, that's why Stan Lee didn't get any of my money at the last con. I think the last autograph's I got that I didn't have to pay for was Phil Ramone, Sir George Martin, Ringo Starr, and Sid Bernstein. Phil Ramone I got when I graduated from 5 Towns College...he was getting a Doctorate. Shook hands and talked about why he wasn't producing Billy Joel anymore. Sir George Martin was at a singing for the Tommy Broadway soundtrack with Pete Townsend. Sold off the Tommy soundtrack signed by Sir George and Pete because I didn't want anything from the Who after meeting Townsend. I did manage to get Sir George to autograph Pepper Ringo was at a signing for Vertical Man and VH1 Storytellers. I have a picture somewhere that I took on line waiting to get an autograph. Ringo was very cool and very talkative. And Sid Bernstein was at a Beatlefest. I was sitting right next to him at a panel and didn't even know it was him Got him to autograph my fest program.
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
The beauty that surrounds them
Isn't it a pity".

I think the Sir George Martin autograph is the one I'm most impressed with of any that have been mentioned in this thread!
I have a great autograph story. This was many years ago, maybe as many as 20. I was a HUGE football card collector back then. I still dabble, but very little and only with autographed cards. I found out that Tony Dorsett was going to be in town to be the honorary captain of the Big 33 football game they have every year at Hersheypark Stadium. He was also going to be signing autographs at a card show in the Hershey Lodge. Being a lifelong Dallas fan, I was thrilled beyond belief. I had a real nice Tony D. rookie card I planed to get autographed. A couple of months go by and I am crazy busy at work, we were working 7 days a week. The Saturday of the show rolls around and all day I keep thinking I am forgetting to do something. I ask my wife if she remembers anything and it isn't till 7 or 8 at night when it hits me like a billion tons of bricks that I forgot all about the show. I am completely inconsolable. I can't believe I missed out on my chance to meet Tony D and get my rookie card signed. After an hour of cursing and moping I decide to call up to the Lodge and see if that is where he is staying, since that was where the show was. I call and ask if they could possibly tell me if he is staying there (thinking that maybe I could hang out in the parking lot the next day in hopes of spotting him). They say "sure, would you like us to ring his room". I am thinking, "you can do that?" They ring his room and it's answered and I ask if I could speak to Mr. Dorsett. The person answers "This is Tony" I wanted to scream at my wife "Holy !!!!, Tony Dorsett is on the freaking phone!" I tell him my sob story and wonder if I could bother him for an autograph the next day. He says, "sure, come to the hotel around 9AM, room 435 (or something like that). Tony Dorsett just invited me to his HOTEL ROOM!!! So, we show up the next day and it's really busy there, people walking around all over. We find his room and knock and he answers and chats with us and signs my card, doesn't ask for a dime (although I took a stack of cash just in case, this was back when it was already popular for athletes to charge people for autographs on the street). We turn to leave and see that 10 or 15 people had formed a line behind me!!! I guess they were waiting for someone bold enough to knock on the door!
Last one was Harry Shearer... I saw him do a Q&A at a book store... and
brought along a custom DEREK SMALLS Simpsons style figure... seemed like
a nifty idea... he enjoyed it, I guess... we both thought it'd be neat if he
signed as "Derek Smalls"
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix
