And folks, let's settle down before the mods decide to yank my thread. What it boils down to is this: every generation thinks theirs was the best, and you know what? They're right! To that particular person who has those memories of being a kid in whatever decade, that was the best time to them. The events and memories, and what they watched, and what they wore and what they played and what they listened to, and heck even what they ate molded and shaped those people into what they are today. Now it's true that this is for the most part a 70s board, b/c that's when MEGO had its heyday, but that doesn't mean there isn't room for 50s and 60s and 80s and 90s babies here as well. We all have a point of view. Let's just try to convey it in a civilized manner.

Filmation did their best animated work from 1976-1982

Tarzan The Lord of The Jungle CBS
    New Adventures of Batman CBS
    Space Sentinels NBC
    Freedom Force CBS
New Adventures Of Flash Gordon NBC
    Blackstar CBS
    Hero High NBC
New Adventures of Lone Ranger CBS
    Zorro
    These are pretty good to.

Bravestar was where I think the problems started. I think they may have been depending a little to much on this series in the end. It just wasnt successful. The MOVIE looks awesome though. A pretty good movie.

Filmations MOTU has its problems but I dont see wheres it garbage Most cartoons in the 80s were heavily tied into a toyline. Remember that the toon didnt come on until late '83 and didnt really show up heavily in syndication until later in '84. The toyline was already a hit, it didnt even need a cartoon tie in.

I agree its no Jonny Quest, but were talking about one of the most popular cartoons of the '80's that STILL has a very good following. I still watch it and Shera on dvd on occasion. Its nostalgia, sure, but I still find alot of things about it entertaining.

Jonny Quest for example is a top of the line animated series from the 60's that still got played in the 80's why? because it was great and had Alex Toth as designer....Quest can easily be on many top ten all time animated series. He-man has nostolgia attached to it that's it....but it's still garbage that even the filmation people will admit to....it was a 30 minute commercial that's all it was.....

If someone is knocking it, it's not a Generational thing...it's a it sucked thing.....
I agree with you about He-Man its pretty bad .I consider myself a huge Filmation fan But I also think alot of Filmation from the 60's sucked arse also!
He-Man ,She-Ra, Bravestarr,Ghostbusetrs animated were bad and I also think since these were all syndicated run shows hurt them alot and Filmation closed their doors in 1988

Lots of 60s and 70s cartoons I don't care for but have never felt the need to tell people that like them that the shows sucked. Again, it seems to be a generational thing of the 60s and 70s kids needing to put down the 80s toons.

I also thought the voice actor for He-Man was really weak. When the original He-Man shouted "I have the power!," you knew he freakin' meant it. Just awesome. Other than that it was a nice modernization of the Filmation toon. Many of the same writers and most of the voice cast did a nice job trying to sound like the originals.
Agreed with the choice to do He-Man's voice. Cam Clarke was not a good choice. You keep thinking it's Leonardo from TMNT.

I have to admit though, i would have liked to have had this Conan cartoon in the early eighties. Has a pretty good toyline to. (not Heman good, though) Anyone notice how much the top bad guy looks like Serpentor?
