One of the sadder things I saw at a toy show was the Iron Sheik sitting on a folding chair in a back room as a replacement if one of the other wrestlers didn't show. Everyone showed so he was sent packing.

One of the saddest things I've ever seen was the first Wizard Con in Toronto, for some reason there were two packed aisles of washed up wrasslers. A couple were obviously intoxicated and doing that "Carnival barker" thing as you walked by. I've got a six year old kid and some drunk guy is swearing at me, good times.
Due to complaints, Wizard dropped the wrestling angle the next year and there were actual celebrities from comic and genre productions in attendance.
The only Wrestler I saw that year?
Virgil, sitting in a booth full of action figures, I tried to buy a JLU figure from him. He took it in good humour.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

He should probably take the hint and just give it up. I've sat behind the table at comic con booths. It's an odd experience. We always had a pretty good flow of people to chat with, but I've seen folks who sat lonely so long wild animals began to roost on them. I can't imagine going throw that more than a few times before just hanging it up.
And yes, Virgil was one of them I saw like that.

Maybe Virgil acts like a jerk because he is "the Heal" in WWF/WCW so he has to be in character. Wasn't his name Vinny when he was NWO? Also when when I take my 11 yr old to see WWE I always wear my NWO wolfpack shirt and one of my many wrestling masks, a lot of the fans think I am a Luchadore when we walk around LOL and it really embarasses my wife LOLLOL

He looked absolutely miserable and my heart really went out to him. I doubt the show was a big boost to his ego, he had no line all day.
The worst thing was, if you saw him, you'd instantly recognize who he was and he had no game at this show.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

One Motor City Con I saw a B List horror star (I won't name him) sitting by his lonesome, clearly hungover, on his cell phone apologizing vehemently to someone on the other end.

This guy literally chased me around the Baltimore Mega Con years back. He was with Jimmy Snuka. I sat there with Doc and actually couldn't believe how few people were interested in him then. I think he had two or three autographs in the 4 or 5 hours I was there. Looks like that number has dwindled. It's not a doll it's an action figure.Comment
