Best Gene Wilder / Richard Pryor movie ?

I guess it's safe to come down to the two biggies ---

    Silver Steak vs Stir Crazy

I'd have to pick Stir Crazy

    What's your choice ?

I prefer Silver Streak but Stir Crazy is right there.

Stir Crazy, I've probably seen it 50 times since I was a kid because I've always been an insanely huge Gene Wilder fan. The last quarter kinda lags a bit though.

If it's the best Wilder/Pryor team up I would say Stir Crazy. If you want to pick the best Gene Wilder film of all...oh she-it... It's Blazing Saddles.

^"A man who drinks like that...he is going to die!"

              "When?"

I'd pick Stir Crazy too. I remember going around saying "That's right, we bad!" when I was 4, just from the commercials.

I dunno, for best Wilder film i'm tempted to pick Willie Wonker

That movie was just so good on all levels and as a kid Wilder was my hero in it... -as a kid his portrayal as Willie also scared me .. a weird combo that could only be done by a GREAT actor

Richard Pryor was part of the writing team wasn't he, so this could technically be considered a Pryor / Wilder flick?

                    I'm Stir Crazy guy myself.

I believe at one point Pryor WAS going to star in Blazing Saddles - but I think the studio was already nervous about the sensitivity of the material - and Pryor's reputation was considered an additional liability, so Cleavon Little was hired for the lead role instead.

I could be wrong - but that's how I remember it.
