Commericials on pay tv - why?

Has anyone else thought why do I have to see commercials at all when Im paying for the satalite Im watching. Is this not why we pay for tv so we do not to have to see the commercials.

I know what you mean Cap......it annoys me in the same way that you have ads for playstation 3 in a nintendo only mag.....it's all money to them and nothing else.

Nope! We pay for TV for a wider choice and clearer signal.

You pay for a Magazine and its full of ads!

They will get you one way or the other.

      They are watching you.

They even track the websites you visit.

All so they can sell you something you don't really need.
Too many toys. Not enough space!

if they got rid of commercials... you'd be paying a heck of a lot more.

Yeah I agree a break is needed during the show for bathroom breaks and such.
But my gosh its every few minutes. Lets agree on only 1 commericial every half hour and we got a deal.
ps. if your watching me you have to be board.
I would imagine thats like watching paint dry.
Not to mention its probaly hard on the eyes.

Commercials before and after don't bother me so much, but during? And I hate watching FearNet OnDemand, and have them splash those advertisments all over the bottom of the screen and block the scene!

On the rare occassion that I go to the movies, I usually get there about 30 minutes in advance. Since I'm usually hauling the entire family in tow, it costs an arm and a leg even at matinee prices so I'm going to grab a seat right in the center of the screen midway back. Our movie theatre will run commercials the entire 30 minutes and then another 20 minutes of previews at the movie start time.

                      Hmmmm....

It's not about making money.... it's about making MORE money. I was bugged by this a decade ago when they started scheduling infomercials late at night on cable. So... I'm PAYING for ADS.... Apparently the idea took.

I'm glad I don't have cable anymore, I have hundreds of DVD's. Not a commercial break in a one! Unedited, uncensored, uncut! Only way to have it. I hate infomercials with a passion!
