Saints get the hammer from the NFL

And bigger news than Tebow is the suspension of the head coach for a year and the loss of 2 second round draft picks. The NFL is sending a huge message to the rest of the league that what happened can never happen again.

Thats a hard hit on them but they do deserve it.I can see this team falling apart fast with that and the way they have treated the Drew Brees contract talks or the lack of.

Although I think other teams should have been slapped harder than they were for some of things they have done; I don't think this is overly harsh given the severity of it all and hopefully the NFL will stay consistent with nonsense like this.

I agree! It sends the message the NFL wants sent. I doubt that Greg Williams will ever work in the NFL again. The Saints were lucky that they didn't have a first round pick in this years draft or they would have lost that too.

I'm just glad they didn't strip the Saints of their Super Bowl win. I was really afraid that would happen. Seems like the NFL is more concerned with "punish you now for what you did then" unlike the NCAA which has become focused on "take away what you accomplished then because of what you did then."

If Payton is suspended for a year, I gotta believe Williams will be banned. Wow

Well here's the thing... How does the team keep him if the fans reject him outright? Yes, the owner was in on it. But do fans show up for a coach who was approving this stuff? Man... I don't know. And something else... What if one of the players hurt can link it back to this scandal? Does the team get sued financially for that? The curve balls here are coming in from all over.

Gotta figure lying to the commish during the investigation didn't help things. The cover up always hurts more.

Actually if the Saints had succeeded in taking Favre out, the Vikings would have won!

I gotta agree. This scandal is far from being financially over.
