So this morning I was looking for a couple of tickets on Stubhub to see the Devils play the Blackhawks on Tuesday. The Devils currently share their building with the NJ Nets at the Prudential Center (better known as The Rock) but I've only ever been there for Hockey games and concerts. Anyway while I was clicking around I accidentally ended up on the Nets section where I saw you can go see them for $2 or less from now to the end of the season, with the exception of three games. Celtic/Nets tickets start at $15 Heat/Nets are $28 and Knicks/Nets begin around $58. You need to pay stubhubs handling fee if you buy the tickets but that means that tonight, I can get two seats to see two professional basketball teams for $4.97. And it's not like there's only one listing for penny tickets....there's dozens of them availalbe for 6 out of 12 remaining games! Some of these seats for a hockey game would run about $70 a pair. The Harlem Globe Trotters showed up a few weeks ago and the cheapest seats I could find for that started at $25!
Personally I wouldn't go if the tickets were free. Of the four major sports in the U.S. basketball is the one I just don't get. I've been to two NBA games ever and was bored to death at both of them. But I'm wondering if this patheticness is exclusive to the Nets or is like that elsewhere for other teams too?
