Awesome storm at my local Target

So, I was just leaving the store with some shelving and here's what I saw rolling across the horizon bearing down on me. Instantly I thought I was in Independence Day or Spielberg's War of the Worlds. These pics aren't doing it any justice as there were at least thirty lightning strikes just behind this storm front. It sort of blew north of us so no real damage. I love storms and would be one of those yahoos in the tank chasing tormados if I had the chance.

I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

Oooh! Scary! We're supposed to get heavy rains tomorrow. I hope we don't lose power. Thanks for sharing those photos.

That would be a super-cell I guess? Just that no tornadoes were spawned.

We had some of those ominous clouds in the Louisville area yesterday, too, Scott. They were nasty business, but somehow beautiful at the same time. Gives you some respect for the sheer power of nature and how little control humankind has over it...
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Great shots Scott. I saw some pretty impressive sights last night too. I could actually see the rain falling in the distance, with the clouds descending in a shaft. I've seen that a few times, but it's rare. Lots of lightning everywhere.

Incredible and wild! I've always wanted to see a tornado, from a safe distance. I don't think I'd chase after one though.

I'm gonna drag you down to my school and make you look after 50 stir-crazy pre-schoolers who haven't been outside all week, and then you can tell me how much you love the rain.
