The Wal-Mart vendors located in Bentonville, Ark., actually have an adult kickball league. I wrote a short feature story on it for a paper about five years ago.

I miss kickball, too. It was a lot of fun and was played by both the jocks and the geeks. I'm thinking about looking into whether or not there are any adult kickball leagues in this area to join for the spring/summer. Would be a nice way to spend a warm, summer evening....!

Tried a couple times to get my daughter to play, apparently they don't play it in school or at recess anymore. We used to play it in the intersection of the street, the four corners of the sidewalks as the bases. Wasn't any traffic, but remember the game getting paused when someone yelled "CAR!".

The other thing not mentioned is that we were usually playing 8-10 blocks from home, and nobody sent out an amber alert looking for us. We came home for only three things: supper, had to pee, or the street lights came on.

Dodgeball was my game! Played it when I used to sub as well, and the kids always loved it.

Our gym teacher always smoked while we played kickball outside.Think thats the only reason we played it. It sure was always fun!

If you don't play some kinda Sport ..., Go Play for an Hour ..., I bet you feel it for a couple of days afterwords.


I run all the time at work, and My Job can be viewed as Extremely Physical to some ...I even pump some weight ..., can swing a 4 Pound Sledge all Day, run a Pavement Breaker, .. But Man, About last July or so ...., I played some Volleyball and some 2-Hand Touch Football with the Kids and Adults ...., and was so Damn Sore Afterwords...., and also Pulled my Growin somehows ...., it hurt for like a Week and a Half or so.

Me To! I remember our neighborhood and the ones around us would play kickball in the street. And I too remember yelling "car!" when one would come by. In elementary school everyday at recess there was a kickball game. Somedays I played and some I didn't.
Sad cause nowdays where I Live I NEVER see kids playing kickball or going outside for that matter.

It's funny to see this thread. Recently I was thinking about playing kickball as a kid and how much fun it was - even though I wasn't very good.

Seattle has Underdog Sports Leagues and one of them is Kickball. I think it's been almost 15 years since they been around. Other sports league are Bocce, Bowling, Dodgeball, Flag Football, Mini Golf, Softball and Volleyball. There is also a Disc league aka Frisbee. Very hard core.
