Sams Club question

Anyone have a membership?Is it worth it.They built a new one near work.And was wondering if it was worth getting a membership. I've heard CostCo is better , but its not around me here.

It's a cool memebrship to have, but don't expect to be able to leave the store without over a hundred dollars worth of stuff. It just alwasy ends up that way. They have THE best grilled chicken I've ever purchased at retail. I usually buy three bags along with beef jerkey, tp, paper towels and laundry detergent. I bought Charmin back in January and not since. It was like 44 rolls.

It's definitely worth it.

I have both Sams and CostCo through my wife's teachers association. I like them both equally. Some things you can only find at one place and not not the other. Prices generally run the same on like items. Sams pizza combo is better though.

My answer is yes, I'd recommend it.

what does the membership cost 30 or 40 dollars? Are the bulk items bigger than what Walmart sells?

$50 a year. Yes, bulks are bigger than Walmart. Like 2 boxes of cereal at a time. 2 jugs of ketchup, 36 rolls of tp, case of candy bars, box of 24 chips. Stuff like that.

But can also get good deals on books, cds, movies, Christmas stuff, jewelery and other large items like tvs.

Yeah like Scott said, they are much more than just food items. Totally worth the membership price.

It's $35 for a membership. I think its worth it. A lot of stuff to buy there.

My wife and I have been members for 15 years and have never regretted it. Some great deals to be found. Now, like all things, not everything is a deal. Some things you still have to shop. But there are plenty of good offers and if your planning a party it's a great place to buy food in bulk. Some years we go alot and others not as much. But even on the lean years we more than make our membership fee back. It's definitely worth it. BTW, it's good place to get your tires changed out too!

BJ's was ok but you had to buy everything in super-bulk --- Like a 5 gallon bucket of mayo

Nooooo! Wal-Mart and Sam's Club are evil! Michigan Blueberry Grower's Association, to which we belong, met with Wal-Mart's regional produce buyer last spring. Because of his comments, I will never set foot in their stores again.
Hubby was so angry that we took the Costco food safety audit, which is above and beyond the State of Michigan audit, and sold our berries to Sams' competitor. If you go to Costco in Michigan, Indiana, or Ohio, you just might see your fruit there.

It really depends on your buying habits. Browse their website and see if you think it would be worth it to you. We got a smoking deal on our Vizio Razor from Sams. They tossed them on a one day sale and we were lucky enough to get the last one. We had our relatives get us Walmart gift cards (the ones that get us gift cards for Christmas every year) because you can use them at Sams and we wanted a new TV. So Maggy. Jr., and I all pooled our cards which nearly paid for the TV. Jr. got the older one so he had a rooting interest in the deal. We were going to get the 42" like the one we had but they were always out of stock on the Razor model. We waited and then Jr. and I saw the larger 47" on sale at just under $100 more then the 42" so we told Maggy about it and went back to get one. It is an awesome TV that we just love! Great picture and wi-fi too. Playing my PS3 games on there is awesome and BluRay DVDs look fantastic!!

We buy other items in bulk so for us it has been a good deal. Our membership is $70 per year but includes my business partner and his wife. So it is $35 each and we get some perks for having a "business account" but I can't remember what they are. Maggy uses it more then I do but I do go with her at times just to keep her in check.

It's worth I think. We had Costco and Sam's memberships and even though I prefer Costco, you said there isn't one nearby. Aside from food as others have stated, they have books, DVD's, etc that are cheaper than what is sold at Wal-Mart. They also sell name brand clothes and you can find some really good deals there.
