I enjoy Spartacus better personally. I haven't seen all of Game of Thrones but from the episodes I have seen, I found it to be slower paced. It is still a pretty good show though, so you can't go wrong either way.
Game of thrones has a more complex story line, moderate blood and gore, and a few boobies. Spartacus is pretty graphic, and plenty of sex, and swearing. I got HBO because of these 2 shows. Both are right up my alley. I don't think you''ll be disappointed with either. If you buy the DVD set of either show and don't like it, I'll buy it off you. There, you can't lose.
"Steel-like jaws clacked away, each bite slashing flesh from my body - I used my knife and my hands, and when they were gone, my bloody stumps - and yet the turtles came."
I haven't seen Game of Thrones yet but on its way from Amazon.com (still trying to get through first season of "Boardwalk Empire" which is great btw). Spartacus is awesome. I think it can be picked up fairly cheap on DVD too.

I haven't seen Sparticus, but I am obsessed with Game of Thrones. I blew through all of the audio books of the rest of the book series after watching Season One.
I too am curious about GoT. LOTR are my favorite movies of all-time, so this probably fits right in my wheelhouse. I've never read the books ir seen any part of the show. Is the HBO series a direct adaptation of the novels or loosely based upon? The reason I ask is I was considering doing the audio book on the way to Megomeet.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.
If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.
^^^The author, George R.R. Martin has said the TV series is "very" faithful to the books. I ordered the first 2 books last week. I'm going to watch first and read them after each season is completed. I have not seen Spartacus yet but Game of Thrones is really good. You can feel GoT is building up to something really big.
It's pretty close, yeah. They change a few things here or there, combine characters, change names for clarity. It'll be interesting to see how they manage Season 2. Clash of Kings is huge. But the story gets better and better.
Damn ... You guys are not making this easy.
.... Sounds as if I need to see em Both.
Trust me...Spartacus is right up your alley. Game of Thrones is very good too, but of the two, you need to start with Spartacus. You will absolutely love it.
And get the first season with Andy Whitfield as Spartacus. Watch it in succession...the show is in season 3 right now (Sparatcus: Vengeance). Season 2 is called "Gods of the Areana." All 3 seasons are phenomenal.
I think I am going to go and get the Game of Thrones from Amazon today. My wife also picked up the first book and I am looking forward to reading that. I figure since Spartacus and Walking Dead are ending soon, I need to find another good show to watch.
