    Having trouble sending emails

I use Incredimail and I keep getting the following error message: failed to connect to the outgoing server.

I have also tried sending emails through my Outlook and Outlook Express with the same results.

Strange thing is I am able to receive emails just fine.

I have done all the trouble shooting I was instructed to do by the help board. Made sure my firewall was allowing a connection and I even went on to Comcast.net and confirmed all my passwords.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Austin

    OK this is weird.

All this is happening on my laptop.

When I have the laptop at home on the docking station it will not send email. But, when it is at the docking station at work, it sends.

    What gives?!?!

    Please, somebody must know.

    Thanks

Been a while since I messed with laptops in the windows world. But if I remember right the laptop has a profile for docked and undocked. I wonder if your docked profile is messed up.

Yep, I think Austin is getting "dicked" around by his laptop all right. This could be one for the General Buzz hall of fame tho.

Problem is that the computer is docked in both places (at home and at work). Why then would one be a problem and one not be? It must be the docking station at home right, since that is the only variable that is different?

I even left it in the docking station at home, disabled the internet connection and then connected with my wireless Sprint card. Once connected that way I was able to send emails just fine. It must be the docking station right?

Beginning to sound like it is. When your on your home docking station can you surf the web?

Yes, I can. The only thing I cannot do is SEND email. I can even receive email which is still baffling to me.

That's because I disabled the modem and sent it over my wireless connection.

A computer friend of mine told me Comcast has changed its ports for sending emails and I needed to change mine from 25 to 587. Now it works just fine.

If anybody else has this problem hope this helps.
