There were a few, some of them at the Drive In...
Alien, Excalibur, Conan the Barbarian, Blade Runner, Creepshow, Eye of the Needle and the Road Warrior/Mad Max 2 were probably the first few.
And a friend's dad took us to see the animated Heavy Metal movie... he didn't realize it had so many boobs and stuff in it!Last edited by Bruce Banner; Feb 23, '12, 6:03 AM.PUNY HUMANS!Comment

Dressed to kill.
I had just turned 16.
The very first shot had a hot and steamy shower scene. It was like taking your first swimming lesson and going it at the deep end....

I really think it was Alien.
We had a second run movie theatre just down the street and on Friday nights, my Dad would take the w,hole family to a movie and pizza and drinks for like $10.00.
Good memories.Comment

I watched a "scrambled" Last American Virgin when I was about 11. We didn't have the movie channel so it came in really fuzzy, but being 11 and knowing I wasn't supposed to be watching it made it tolerable.
Think shortly after my older sister let me watch Eddie Murphy's Delirious. to this day I've never laughed so hard in my lifeComment

My parents took me to Jaws in a drive-in, but I'm not sure that was rated R in Canada. In any case, I was too young to remember it.
It's kind of a hard question because in Canada rated 'R' films are restricted to children under 18 regardless of being accompanied by an adult - we had AA (Adult Accompaniment) as a middle rating between PG and R, so the only time I remember seeing 'R' movies was when we were vacationing in the U.S. - but some of those may have not been restricted here.
"Beverly Hills Cop" is probably the first full-on 'R' movie I saw in the theatre.Comment
