This would work better now as a CGI movie rather than a live action.....then it would be easier for the aging actors to return to their roles.........

Why do people have an issue with Murray as a ghost? Let him die in the beginning, but stick around the rest of the movie with a green aura around him. He can do anything then.....He'd be hilarious(think bettlejuice).

Winston was never a true Ghostbuster. In his own word, "he just worked for these guys." Years ago I read something about the NAACP complaining about the lack of prominent roles for African-Americans in predominantly white films so Aykroyd was either asked or told to write a black character into the films and thus Winston was born. But if you look at the way his character is written, he's never part of the group. First off, he's not a scientist, he's a layman. Second aside from the "just work for these guys" line, he also says things like "This job is definitely not worth $11,500 a year" and "No offense guys, but I gotta get my own lawyer." It's like Aykroyd wrote him in but gave a big middle finger when he did it. He's one of the cast that should not have been brought back for the sequel. In the first film, he's just looking for work..."If there's a steady paycheck involved, I'll believe anything you say." He's the hired help and an outsider from the rest of the group.

[QUOTE=Brad;874681]I always think of John Belushi when the movie of Ghostbusters is discussed. I believe that Dan Aykroyd was actually writing a line for John in the script when he received the phone call that John had died. There is some interesting trivia of that movie including which actors were originally wanted for the movie.

The "onion-head ghost" (slimer) is actually supposed to be the ghost of Bluto from Animal House and if you look at the ghost in the no-ghost logo, it' was designed to be a character silhouette of John Belushi.

I HIGHLY disagree about Winston not being a true Ghostbuster.

He might have been just a hired hand...he might not have been a scientist...but he fought alongside them against the Stay Puft MashMallow Man...

Winston risked his life as well...just like the others...he EARNED the right to be called a Ghostsbuster...simple as that.

The only possible negative towards Winston is that he's kind of a repeat of
Murray's character... as both are a "skeptic" towards the beliefs of
                  Ray and Egon...

BUT, UNLIKE VENKMAN, Winston comes fro the "outside" and doesn't have
the "whimsy" of Venkman's character either, so I thoink Winston is indeed
                  key to the franchise.

As far as Venkman being a ghost for the whole movie... they've teased us
with this brilliant idea for so long... I'm gonna be bummed if they never do it.
