If you live in any big American city...the home burglars are there...it doesn't make any difference which city you live in....as a matter of fact...the wealthier the neighborhood...the better for the scummy burglars...unless you have awesome security.
Move to the countryside, Damien.sigpicComment

Sorry bro! What a crap situation. I agree about beefing up security, but neighborhood watches are also very helpful. If you don't have it already, this could be the strike point to get organized as a community.
Your home is sacred and you have the next generation to guard & also teach to do the right thing.
Hang in there and get busy!Comment

We have been fortunate not to have had our home burglarized in the 20 years we've been living here (my truck's stereo was stolen once).
Not to say that our street has not suffered brakes in...one of our neighbors' house was broke into not too long ago...the scumbag/scumbags stole his computer, an Xbox, and an audio mixer.
We have the works though, alarm, good neighbors who keep an eye out, the house is always "busy"...meaning...when no one is home...the house is noisy...all TV's on...lights on, double-pane windows, steel security doors...the only thing missing in our arsenal are a dozen starving hyenas watching out over the backyard...lol.
The ONLY security window bars we have are on the backyard cottage...not on the main house...we don't wanna ghettoize the street...because all the neighbors will kill us...that's not allowed (one older couple did, way before we moved in, and they never hear the end of it)...lol.sigpicComment

Wow, sorry to hear this. Crime unfortunately is everywhere. Had a friend who lived in Baltimore who always left his old beat-up car unlocked. His theory was he would rather someone rummage around inside it than to wake up in the morning with the window broken. It's all good!Comment

Bummer that you had to switch...I'm a Operations Manager at ADT...I could have helped you out.
Sometimes just having a few signs and window stickers is a good deterrent but when you're getting your stuff stolen it doesn't make you feel safe. Hope everything works with the new system.
Let me know if I can ever help out on the security side.

Miami was recently named the most miserable city in the U.S. Not to pile on but it sounds like your misfortunes are aligning with the report.
