New Cracked article. He mentions the "Han shot first" thing a lot. It's a terrible tweak for sure but of all the things done to the original 3 films, I think the most egregious was changing the Sy Snootles song in Jedi to the ridiculous muppet song in Jabba's Palace. Unlike, the Han/Greedo scene, which takes about .5 seconds to watch, the new song (and dance) seems to last longer than Stairway to Heaven. Anyway, enjoy....

I liked the picture of Mr. Snuffleufugus in Mos Eisley. I always keep in mind that these are Lucas's films to do with as he pleases and my job is to figure out if his changes sour the deal so much that I don't want to get the movies on the next best format ( so far, no).

Being more of a film fan and a 70's nostalgia fan though, it does make The current release of Star Wars some other animal than it was when it was part of the pack of beloved 70's Sci-fi movies I'd like to place It with.

The 2011 Star Wars that weaves out of 70's live action into 21'rst century CGI, doesn't fit well anymore with Superman, Close Encounters, King Kong '76, ST:TMP and other movies I psychologicially placed it alongside with. You can no longer see the "growing pains" in the visual effects that I grown to love seeing. A struggled for visual effect that pushed the technological envelope at the time thrills me more more than any CGI.

So, I hope George will someday put out those original versions, until then, I have the bootlegs that recreated the original versions as best as they could manage.

There are only two thoughts left of Lucas that I have any interest in knowing:

1) Who get's the Star Wars franchise after he croaks?

2) Does his Will state the paul bearers must wear Storm Trooper uniforms?

That's about it. What's left with his earth bound existence is predictable at best.

Ohh boy! I can just see it now. All of the figures that have already been released over and over again will be released even more.

Sadly, I can already start to envision the new backer card titles on the pegs.
