I was 6 for the majority of 1981. I turned 7 in December. The only of these I saw in theaters was Superman II. A Superman movie was always a lock, because I was already obsessed at that age, and my mom thought Chris Reeve was hunky.

MY BLOODY VALENTINE came out in 1981. Appropriate for today.

I cashed in a favour from my dad to go see that, I still have the buyer's remorse.
One movie I wish I'd walked out on.

We waited for video for Heartbeeps. After seeing it, I'm glad we did.

I was 7. I distinctly remember begging our parents to see Clash of the Titans, but they insisted we see Raiders instead. Well, I have an original Raiders po ster on my wall while I never eben watched Clash until last year with my kids. It was decent.

If there were kids your age and a swimming hole near by it sounds like the ingredients for a Summer filled with good memories.

Of all these films I think I only saw Superman II. My parents were not movie-goers and I was not allowed to see films with anyone else. I remember reading a lot of comics and hearing a lot of the music from that summer. I think the mid-season run of Greatest American Hero had just ended and I was really happy about that show being on TV. It was one of the few shows I really wanted to watch on TV anymore.
