I view them as obviously Grown Men who remain in a state of arrested development and act like dickish 14 year olds. I'll take squeaky clean Toy Hunter to the completely undeserved hubris of those guys. Smith's acting during those set ups is cringe worthy and I'm a fan of the guy.
Yeah, I think I've outgrown Smith's routine for the most part. A little snark is okay, but I really appreciate sincerity nowadays. I tried this show a time or two, but it seemed like a Pawn Stars rip-off as directed by Kevin Smith to me.

Ok, I tried watching it again, and I still hate it, lol.

The kids' birthday party was so poorly staged, it was actually sad to watch.

All the dudes tell the lamest jokes and everyone is cracking up like if the ghost of George Carlin was there.

And poor Kevin Smith, he sweats even more than me. When he gives out standing lectures, he's always sweating, but I can understand that, he's in front of an audience, he's standing, being animated, and so on. But in this show, he's seating in an air conditioned set and still sweating. Smith was recently in Bill Maher's HBO Real Time show, and again, seating in an air conditioned set, he was also sweating by the buckets. I know being heavy is part of his sweating problem, but I also think it's a glandular problem. Come on, many of us sweat...but this is TV dammit, get your act together. lol.

Also, Kevin Smith's manager, you know, Rat Boy (I hate to point out people's imperfections, since I'm not so pretty myself either, but I had to describe him, for I don't know his name, lol)...I hate, and I mean I really hate...how he rolls up his eyes when he's haggling over prices...like he's about to pass out, at first I thought it was funny, but he does it all the time...and now it just gets on my friggin' nerves, lol.

      Rat Boy is annoying, period.

The Asian dude has to be the nerdiest nerd on Earth.

The bearded dude should be either a biker or tending some farm.

Kevin Smith needs to consult a doctor about his sweating problems.

The fifth dude is the forgotten one...he's just barely an extra, lol.

      Ok, end of rant.

As messed-up as it was, the wedding of Reed Richards and Sue Storm was pretty silly and .. at least the vows were, um, creative..

        Scene here:

I must admit I didn't mind this episode maybe because the wedding was a pretty obvious staged stunt.

....OR playing Alan Moore at kids parties.

I dunno; I got the same problem with this show that I have with pretty much every comic book related show since the 80's: their scope is WAY too narrow. I think more folks should read this:

Yeah, they borrow liberally from the Pawn Stars school of contrived bets, situations, etc.

Been watching on Netflix and have one episode left for season one. Overall I enjoy the show minus the studio segments. I might not be as hard on it as some folks as I pretty much welcome anything that deals with subjects I actually enjoy. I do like Toy Hunter better, as I can't point to nay segments I don;t enjoy.

The deal aspect of the show is fine (whether is staged or not)...what I dislike are their lame storytelling studio segments...where everyone says the lamest anecdotes and jokes (like Smith's Frazetta's van anecdote for example)...and everyone laughs hysterically...it's sort of when George Lucas is screening something at his own private movie screen...and also tells the lamest jokes...and all his kiss arse staff laughs hysterically as well, lol.

Although I have to admit...the wedding bit was a bit funny...so I'm not entirely hating here, lol.

Been catching up on the current episodes and boxed Megos make a return this time an "Electric Company" boxed Spidey, Human Torch, and Mxy. Two more inaccuracies, probably due to time constraints. One their "expert" claimed the EC box was the rarer version and second claiming the boxed torch was rarer than a carded one. That's the one I forgive due to time constraints as really only rarer relative to a Pin Pin card, not a US version. Still nice to see Megos in the spotlight. After the usual haggling they gave the guy $350 for all three.

The bit with the Underoos was funny.

                          Annual bump!

Nichelle Nichols walked into the shop in tonight's ep, wanting her Mego figure. Why was Ms Nichols in Red Bank NJ, and why did she want her Mego figure? Hey, she just was, and she just did. Stop asking questions and enjoy the schtick..
