The first season was great. I know a lot of people stopped watching it somewhere in the 2nd season because it wasn't moving fast enough. You can only watch a group of people pushing a button on a computer for so long before you say ok this was fun...NEXT!
But the 3rd Season was actually the best IMHO (aside from the many deaths of Charlie plotline). Almost the entire season revolved around learning about "The Others". Ben and Juliette were welcome additions. The season ending however SUCKED! The previews for the 4th Season look like it's going to be a good one too! Can't wait!Comment

One of the few shows on TV I actually enjoy watching.
I'm really looking forward to it. It has been a while since the 3rd season finale so I might have to watch a couple of the last episodes on DVD to remember where things left off."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."

I was really into Lost during the first season.
Then, The Others were introduced. As we got to learn more about The Others, I started to wince more and more.
I think that with all of the characters that have been killed off - either for the sake of the storyline or for their DUI in the islands, the show is like watching a traffic accident.
I hate the character Michael with a passion.
I hate The Others.
I hate the fact that they killed off Charlie. That's the end of a long list of people who died that shouldn't have. Blowing up the science teacher was kinda wickedly funny. Killing off the two "grifters" by burying them alive was hilarious, too.
But Shannon, Ana-Lucia, Libby and Mr. Eko all seemed unnecessary, unwarranted, needless, pointless and just plain dumb.
The flash-forward just infuriating. I can watch Jack self-destruct up until he gets on Flight 815, but I have a hard time seeing him still self-destructing after a rescue. Yeah, I know, some people won't change from the experience - it's still hard to watch.
I haven't seen the previews for the new season. I'm still not sure I'm going to watch it.Shameless self-promotion -

Desmond tells Charlie he needs to sacrifice himself in the Season 3 finale so that Claire can be rescued. He drowns in the "Looking Glass" station which is under water. But with this show you never know, he might get better. Some last minute plot twist could come into play.
Michael was written out of the show for obvious reasons, mainly because of his son Walt. When the show first started Walt was a relatively young child. I don't think the producers were expecting his sudden growth spurt. Which wouldn't make sense if the group had only been on the Island for just over two months. So of course Walt gets taken away at the end of the first season, he only makes a couple of appearances in the second and then he and Micheal get "written out" before anyone notices how much he's growing up. Walt has one last appearance in the 3rd season and he looks considerably older.Comment

If I remember correctly, Desmond keeps having clairvoyant type experiences which usually involves somebody's death...I think he kept seeing Charlie die and would always change the course of events so it wouldn't happen. Then he would have another dream and Charlie would die doing something else and sure enough he would step in and prevent it from happening.
Finally, after about the 4th or 5th time, he sees Charlie drowning and I guess gets tired of saving his life and tells him it's his destiny....so much for friends."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."
