Here's the thing with this game...if Brady won, he's in Joe Montana territory even with the one loss four years ago. Now he's in John Elway territory...still good but not the best. For Eli if he lost he would have been 1-1 and then there's the talk that maybe 07 was a fluke and the Pats got revenge but now he's 2-0, the Super Bowl MVP twice and he (and Coughlin) are going to the Hall of Fame regardless of what happens in the future. Not to mention he's also just become the greatest Quarterback in New York history....bigger than Simms and even bigger than Namath. So this game was a tale of two legacies going in different directions.
I thought he was already the best QB in NY even before this game

you think Charger fans are furious right now? after what he did in the draft? They get stuck with Rivers and SB's , I guess Eli and his dad knew what they were doing all along

Right..Elway lost his first three and got two back to back and then retired on top. Brady won his first three but then lost his next two. The last two are by far the two most important Super Bowls he's played in...'07 was for history and tonight was for his legacy. That's why I say they're similar even though Brady's got one more ring. Both of them are a tier lower than Montana and Bradshaw. Had Brady won tonight the victory would have placed him in that top tier category.

Did Brady say he was going to retire? Pretty sure he has some years left in him.

No...if he won tonight he could have been in that discussion. (I wouldn't make the argument for him but someone could) Now there is no discussion. He's not the "best ever" and really after two HUGE Super Bowl losses, he can never really be considered that now.

I'd did too. But up here after the 08 season a lot of Giants fans were calling 07 a fluke and were considering him lucky. Not all Giants fans mind you but still enough. It's almost like they didn't give him enough credit for '07. Tonight he silenced all of that forever.
