I have an LCD TV problem/question.

I own a Samsung LCD tv, purchased in late 2008 and noticed it has been acting funny lately. It will sometimes turn darkish in color as though someone placed a magnet to it but seems to clear up after a couple of minutes. It will also do this occassionally while it has been on for a while and working fine, it will get splotchy then clear up. I don't know if this is an issue with the tv itself or possibly something with the cable company. Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't know but does Samsung have a contact us link on their homepage where you can ask them?

When it does that, check the the vents at the bottom behind the TV. The back light is what gives the TV it's illumination. You should be able to see the light coming on through the vent slots. If you don't see the light, turn the TV off and turn it back on and see if the lights don't come back on. Sounds like you may have a bad circuit card that controls the back lighting.

Funny...because Samsung is one of the best rated brands out there.

I've had mine for five years...and the picture is still beautiful...mind you...it was the top model back in the day...it cost me $2,250 at the time...

Our household has three Samsungs...they are all great.

I love my Samsung plasma, I've only had it a year and a half, mind you.

Sometimes instead of dark colors, an overlapping image appears. It doesn't happen all of the time but more frequently but always clears up in a couple of minutes. I guess I'm wondering if it is a possible cable issue. I have a brand new LED tv in the mancave and notice that there are a couple of channels with no sound. Right now, it is just hooked up with a digital cable box but am going to get a DVR for it so I can access the HD signals. My kids are always complaining about stalls using the internet, so don't know if this strange tv problem might be cable related and not tv related (have never noticed this problem playing a movie in a dvd player).

Our family room has a 62 inch Samsung plasma mounted to the wall and it is drop dead gorgeous. Had it for 3 or 4 years now and no problems whatsoever.
