HTC/Verizon intentionally sabotaging droids to sell new phones?!

My wife has an HTC/Verizon droid, and her latest update totally ruined the phone. EVERYTHING from settings, to lost photos, deleted messages, you name it. She had it looked at and the guy said from everything he could tell, the update intentionally messed up the phone. Lo and behold, right after the update was sent, my wife starts getting calls and stuff in the mail saying it's time to upgrade to a new phone.

HOW is this crap not illegal, and how do these companies get away with it?

I run a BB storm 1. For the last week and a half, or so, I've been having trouble keeping my 1XEV signal. I don't know if its Verizon or what. Getting old in yanking the battery all the time.
This phone is a replacement too. Got it a few months ago after an update fried my first one!

After reading what you posted I won't be doing any updates for a while!

PS: been out of contract so long and more than eligible for a new phone! Ha!
