So, did you stay up and watch Dave's / Jay's / Conan's / Craig's return?
Me, I'm a Letterman fan. I think it's because he's a smart@$$, and that appeals to me. Jay Leno is funny - and if he appeals to you, then God bless America. I guess it's the choice between Coke and Pepsi, Betty and Veronica, Ginger and MaryAnn.
I liked how he opened the show - with Hillary Clinton bashing him. The Top Ten was a riot. I was really looking forward to seeing what Dave would do to address the whole Strike topic.
I like the idea that he's gonna have that beard shaved off on the show. It actually looks better than Conan's. Conan's looks pasted on. I'm sorry - he looks twelve.
I made it halfway through the Robin Williams interview. I wonder, is a joke funny even when the delivery is too fast to catch it? Don't get me wrong, I like Robin Williams, but he comes out and his delivery is so rapid fire. I have to psych myself up to be ready to laugh at everything he says, and laugh at him no matter what he does - because he's going to do something funny. If it's a choice between Robin Williams and Mike Huckabee - hands down - Robin Williams.
Letterman usually has the "better" guests. He usually has the actor or actress that has a movie coming out this weekend. I like his Small Town News, especially when he shows a picture of nine guys that are supposed to be part of a quartet.
I apologize if you don't like / can't stand Letterman and Leno appeals to you more - or if you like the idea of a guy writing his own material instead of a guy who swung a deal for his writers so his show could go on. That's like half a dozen of one six of another.
I'd TiVo Craig Ferguson, but I would never get back around to watching the episode. If I think about it, and have nothing to do on a Saturday morning, I stay up and do the double-header - Dave and Craig.
