    Late Nite Shows

    So, did you stay up and watch Dave's / Jay's / Conan's / Craig's return?

Me, I'm a Letterman fan. I think it's because he's a smart@$$, and that appeals to me. Jay Leno is funny - and if he appeals to you, then God bless America. I guess it's the choice between Coke and Pepsi, Betty and Veronica, Ginger and MaryAnn.

I liked how he opened the show - with Hillary Clinton bashing him. The Top Ten was a riot. I was really looking forward to seeing what Dave would do to address the whole Strike topic.

I like the idea that he's gonna have that beard shaved off on the show. It actually looks better than Conan's. Conan's looks pasted on. I'm sorry - he looks twelve.

I made it halfway through the Robin Williams interview. I wonder, is a joke funny even when the delivery is too fast to catch it? Don't get me wrong, I like Robin Williams, but he comes out and his delivery is so rapid fire. I have to psych myself up to be ready to laugh at everything he says, and laugh at him no matter what he does - because he's going to do something funny. If it's a choice between Robin Williams and Mike Huckabee - hands down - Robin Williams.

Letterman usually has the "better" guests. He usually has the actor or actress that has a movie coming out this weekend. I like his Small Town News, especially when he shows a picture of nine guys that are supposed to be part of a quartet.

I apologize if you don't like / can't stand Letterman and Leno appeals to you more - or if you like the idea of a guy writing his own material instead of a guy who swung a deal for his writers so his show could go on. That's like half a dozen of one six of another.

I'd TiVo Craig Ferguson, but I would never get back around to watching the episode. If I think about it, and have nothing to do on a Saturday morning, I stay up and do the double-header - Dave and Craig.

    So, what are your thoughts:

I cannot stand Leno. I can come up with the punch line before he delivers it. He is too scripted and flat. I have been a Letterman fan since he had the day time show in the early 80's. His show seems more "from the hip."

I loved the HBO movie "Late Show" a few years ago when NBC screwed over Letterman.

I have nothing against Leno and Conan but I'm into watching Letterman and Craig Fergason.

Conan and Jimmy Kimmel have the best late night shows IMO. Furgeson is unwatchable. Letterman hasn't made me laugh in years. Leno usually has the best guests.

I used to like Letterman when he was on NBC.
After he moved to CBS he seems too, I dunno-- stiff and the spontaneity seems gone.

Of them all, I like Conan the best.
Also, sometimes I watch that Scottsman.
            I forgot his name.

Well, I missed all of 'em, but I have to say I am a devout Letterman fan ever since he went on the air at NBC.

I think people either love Dave or hate him, though. There's little in between.

I love his sense of humor. I agree he's not as "off the wall" as when he was at NBC, but he's also in the 11:30 time slot and that's a bit different than the 12:30 slot. I still think he's hilarious!
