The only TRU's around me are 1.5 to 2 hr away so I don't get to them to often. That said, I was in one yesterday that's been converted to be half BRU and didn't really see much difference. Still had Luthor & Sinestro hanging there in multiples with a single GL - all for full retail $19.99. -
Why dont they just remodel their stores, get some GREAT and deverse set of toys, and just have a great reopening of all stores with commercials and newspaper ads? I guess that would be to hard....Leave a comment:

The most idiotic part is the fact that they are on the main north to south route to get to Legoland and only 5 miles away. And they had a huge Lego section.Leave a comment:

The TRU just a few miles from where I live is closing down too. End of this month. I never find much there that I want, but it's still fun to look at all the new toys that are out.Leave a comment:

I doubt the one in Huntsville will close. They just moved it to a new shopping center.Leave a comment:

Closest one to me in St. Catharines, Ontario still seems to be doing just fine. I'm sure the Babies R Us connected next door helps.Leave a comment:

@thunderbolt I'm sad to hear about the Lake Wales one closing. It's the closest one to me.
Damien... I actually worked at the TRU on US1 (near Dadeland) right out of college while I was shopping my demo reel around to the various studios. I lasted 2 weeks, and then I just quit. It was the most depressing job I ever had... and the managers were out to get "the college girl."Leave a comment:

Your post pretty much sums up my thoughts as well. I can barely stand Wal-Mart with the insanely large crowds. When it comes to walk in stores, I think Target tends to carry the things I'm most interested in. And they typically BEAT Walmart on price. Walmart is slowly becoming like Kmart. Crowded isles and dirty stores. The shopping experience is typically not something I enjoy. TRU is okay when they are actually stocking something I want. But I can usually go in and come out in ten minutes or less. They do not compete in pricing and let aging product sit on shelves FOREVER at the original price. The first line of Retro Action figures still hang on their pegs. Lex and Sinestro anyway. Four of each character. Still $19.99.
The places are becoming like zoo's.
The parking spaces are at mininal most all the time, long lines, people in just about every aisle.
I go to Target and I do not have to drive around looking for a place to park, and I get in and out quickly, The stores are really clean, I get what I want, I don't have to stand in line hardly at all. I may pay a "little bit extra" for some things, but to tell you the truth it is totally worth it to me vs. the hassle at Wal-Mart.Leave a comment:

Ok so if it has already changed over it is safe. Mine in Asheville is half babiesrus already. I hardly notice except the bathrooms are on that side of the store.Leave a comment:

TRU never did really impress me much at all.
