    Sexapalooza

I DJ on the weekends a couple times per month to earn extra cash. You know, weddings, dances, and that kind of stuff. From time to time I get calls to DJ or run video at a convention. So, I got a phone call Monday morning about some DJ work for this weekend. "Funny Story" the owner tells me. "I need you for a convention for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday" he said. I was thinking, great! Three days worth of DJing should be some really good money. "How do you feel about running video for an 'Educational Room' at a sex convention?"

He had my attention. Apparently there is a sex convention being held in the United States for the first time called sexapalooza (It's a Canadian thing). So this weekend I will be spending 6 hours a day running video and sound for an educational room where one of the seminars is titled, "Her joy box is his toolbox". I am still a bit confused as to what I should be thinking.

sounds better than the bus drivers convention I ran sound for a few years ago.

Although, I must admit, it was pretty surreal when all of a sudden they (the candy corn shaped bus drivers) all formed a well choreographed line dance for one of the band's songs.

have a GOOD time and watch out for the live room.

Oh that show, it's held in Toronto every year. I usually know it's on when Ron Jeremy ends up on the local news.

Last year if I recall, they held a knitting convention next door and well, hilarity ensued.

A knitting convention. C'Mon, you can't make that stuff up. That is classic!

I shudder to think of what was made at that knitting convention.

I have visions of anatomically correct cozies going through my head.

And believe me, it ain't pretty!

Yep, that's where I will be. I will be the one wearing the steel chastity belt provided courtesy of my wife. I told her not to worry, what kind of trouble could an old man possibly get into at a convention full of porn stars.

Sounds like fun. And you get paid to. How much better can it be? Don't answer that! Your wife may be watching you now.

I personally like the AVN Awards Show which will be coming up soon. I have met lots of interesting people there shall we say.

I think this occasion calls for Norwegian Death Metal.
If you don't currently own a copy of Steven Jesse Bernstein's "Prison" album, as any good DJ should, I could overnight you a copy.

Thanks, but I don't get to pick the music for this one. I was told they will be providing me with CDs when I get there.
