    memory stick issue

I had some pictures that I was getting ready to transfer from my digital camera memory stick and now I cannot seem to access it. It was working fine all of the other times up until now.

I tried using the reader on the computer and it will not detect the memory stick now. It worked fine earlier. I tried reading the stick from the digital camera and I get an error message stating that there is an error and it cannot read the memory stick now all of a sudden.

Everything was working fine just minutes ago.

This sucks as I had pictures for the Mego Vehicle Database and some more head options and others.

Has anyone else here ever had this issue?

I did a Google search and am looking to see what I can find out.

Well after using Google I ran across a program called "cardrecovery". I downloaded it, installed it and tried it and it was not able to recover any of my pictures. It looked to be a really good program with lots of great reviews. Unfortunately for me it did not work. I guess my memory card is really FUBR.

Nothing a new one won't fix I suppose. It just throws me behind a bit on getting the new pictures up. So to those that I still need to send pictures to now you know you will not be getting them tonight.

I've had that happen before. The best I can trace back as to what happened was that I didn't power the camera down when I removed the card and thus goofed its formatting. Yeah that suck. Sorry bro. :(

Thanks Jim. It happens. I have had this same memory stick for years now. I usually just transfer the pictures from the digital camera via the cable.

Most recently I have been taking the memory stick out and using it in the built in reader. So that was probably what happened to me to. Everything would have probably been just fine had I not removed the stick and started using it in the reader. The issue was though that I only had one transfer cable and it was at another location. My cable was at my other house and I wanted to transfer the pictures last night. Lesson learned.

Thankfully there was nothing lost that cannot be redone again.
