TV Shows That Have Stayed Past Their Prime

Saw this on Yahoo today. I actually haven't watched any of these shows (or heard of a few) except American Dad & Cleveland and I always wondered how they're still on the air...

Shows We Can't Believe Are Still On the Air - Yahoo! TV

Of all of those listed, I have only seen Supernatural. I don't like prime time television too much. The dialogue is so stifling and unrealistic, I can't sit through them. There's so much sexual innuendo, it's embarrassing to think these writers actually get paid to write this crap. I have my endless collection of boxsets and movies for casual viewing. Television-wise, the only shows I watch on a regular basis is 'Around the horn' and 'Pardon the Interruption' on ESPN. I'm more news, sports, and educationally oriented than weekly sitcoms or dramas. I can watch specials on the Discovery Channel for hours before I could sit down for one viewing of those CSI shows. How many are there anyway? It's like the Avengers. They have one on each coast? I did actually think I would get hooked on the new Hawaii Five-O when that debuted. But as it turns out, that show can't hold Jack Lord's jock strap from the original.

I have only watched CSI:NY of all the shows listed. I really liked CSI....clever idea, good storie lines, etc. Then they watered it down with CSI:Miami and CSI:NY. I no longer watch any of the three. I also am in the camp of not watching much tv on any of the three major stations. I'm sure the History Channel and Discovery Channel receives the bulk of my tv viewing (outside of sports).

I'm a big Supernatural fan, but they definitely blew their creative wad with the completion of the long Lucifer/Michael ~ Sam/Dean armageddon arc a couple seasons ago.

I've never seen a single episode of any of those shows they listed. They dropped The Unit, which I was really into. I can't stand anything Oprah touches. I hate that show "The Closer" because Kyra Sedgwick is so annoying to watch, and her character isn't believable. I'm glad (sarcastic)there are at least 3 shows about making cakes, and at least another 5 about cooking. Who can't get enough cooking related competition shows?

I am very surprised to see the Simpsons was not on that list, because it really should have been

^Agreed. How many times can you see Lisa protest something or Homer do something stupid? As to American Dad being able to keep going two words come to mind,[adult swim].

I quite like American Dad but have only started watching the series this past few months, have not seen any adult swim stuff though.

As with the CSI series,NCIS is the only one i watch out of all of them, season 9 kicks off here this friday.

They need to add Saturday Night Live and the Simpsons.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia really jumped the shark this season. It should go. We're about ready to take Robot Chicken off the TIVO as well.

I was gonna say The Simpsons as well. Hard to believe that show was once considered groundbreaking.
