In defense of the Brothers Gibb, some of their earlier works are still listenable. It's mostly just the disco stuff that is intolerable...!!!!!

Perhaps, but the cheesy atmosphere which surrounded it at the time seems totally dated and wimpy to me now.

That song was actually reworked for Haiti a year ago.

I'd go with any war protest song from the 60s.

                    lost relevance?
many of the songs listed in the above posts are very relevent. either the message itself is relevant or the song itself is relevant as a sign of the time it was released.

Mikey is correct is pointing out that it is not the fact a song is irrelevant. Rather it is the listener who fails to understand the implications. Sweet Home Alabama speaks books. More irreverent is Western Union thar Anthony mentioned but still can be seen as a piece of history for how high speed communication used to be (as well as it being a poppy song indicative of the period it was released)

When I think of songs that are now irrelevant I think of songs that I couldn't name because they really hold no place in history. They were here for a short time and then they were gone. Period.

Many of you have listed songs that YOU no longer like rather than songs that are irrelevant. I only say this because I think the original question is a good one - not that your opinions aren't valid.

Oh, I was kidding. I completely agree with you. That song is pure CHEESE today. Almost unwatchable as a video.
