I recorded a couple of Lone Ranger episodes and a Scooby-Doo on my tape recorder back in the day.

And a WSBK Twilight Zone Marathon on an old reel-to reel tape recorder. They were showing "Miniature", "Sounds and Silences" and "Short Drink from a Certain Fountain" for the 1st time in syndication and we didn't have a VCR...

I remember when The Wiz came on network TV for the first time, and I propped my red Panasonic tape recorder in front of the TV and sat very still so as not to get any background sounds. (Mom was asleep at the time). I still have that thing in my cassette collection. And one of my co-workers 20 years ago gave me the whole Star Wars radio show that her brother recorded for her son, (and he outgrew his Star Wars phase), and (get this) it's in one of those cassette albums (well half of one). Those are kinda fun to play in the dark when the power goes out.
